Catalonia's first Japanese-style hotel is due to open this year
Now, even when you are in Catalonia, you can immerse yourself in the traditional culture of Japan. All this thanks to the fact that the Hotel Japonès Puigpinós opens in traditional Japanese style. Its founders are a couple with Catalan and Japanese roots, who were passionate about recreating the so-called ryokan on the outskirts of Solsonese.
The hotel is housed in a family owned farmhouse dating back to 1131. The building has been restored retaining the original Catalan interior details and adding Japanese culture décor. Guests will be able to sample Japanese products and try out the "forest bath" technique to relax and connect with nature.
Japanese and Catalan gastronomy are of course not forgotten and the best traditional dishes of the two cultures are prepared to be served here. The hotel's mission is to "send" guests on a journey to Japan, without leaving Catalonia. This cosy place will open on 21 April this year. But according to the latest figures, the hotel is temporarily closed for 2022.
